ABOUT
Founded by Gareth Maccubbin in New York City's East Village in 2013, Maiden Lane has introduced the American dining scene to the rich, eclectic tradition of fine European-tinned seafood. With a carefully curated list of liquor, beer, and wine, Maiden Lane combines the charm of a European conservas bar with a distinctly New York edge. Beyond our local experience, we also operate an online store, shipping our tinned offerings nationwide, and host seasonal pop-up shops. Our unique approach has been recognized by media outlets such as Heritage Radio, The New York Times, Condé Nast Traveler, Vogue, New York Magazine, Bon Appétit, and more.
Our menu centers around premium tinned seafood sourced from European canneries that prioritize sustainability. These canneries use traditional methods, hand-cleaning and packing the seafood at peak freshness to maintain top quality. Nutritious and rich in protein and omega-3s, a tin of fish paired with a salad or baguette makes a complete, wholesome meal.
In addition to our tinned seafood, we offer a seasonal selection of bar snacks, salads, and sandwiches, all thoughtfully paired with an array of craft beers, artisanal spirits, and small-production wines, with an emphasis on coastal regions.
Overlooking historic Tompkins Square Park, Maiden Lane offers a lively, neighborhood bar vibe with large windows, friendly staff, casual yet attentive service, and a killer soundtrack.
